Women’s Basketball Player of the Week: Gage Grassick, Saskatchewan

Gage Grassick, a third-year guard for the Saskatchewan Huskies led her team to two big weekend wins over the Calgary Dinos. Grassick had 13 points with five rebounds, five assists and five steals in Friday’s 70-56 win over the Dinos, then had a game-high 23 points, along with six rebounds, four assists and three steals in a tight 72-65 victory in the rematch on Saturday.

Men’s Basketball Player of the Week: Malcolm Christie, Dalhousie

  • Academic program: Commerce

Malcolm Christie, a third-year guard for the Dalhousie Tigers scored 51 points – the highest in a U SPORTS regular season game since 1989 – on Saturday against the UNB Reds. Christie was 14- for -27 from the field, 15-for-15 from the free throw line and made eight 3-pointers in the 90-79 loss. Christie is now second in Canada for points this season and first in the conference for three-point shots made.
