Goalie Kendra Woodland of UNB helped the REDS to a win in the AUS conference championship series. With her REDS facing a must-win game, the senior stopped all 34 shots in Game 2 on Monday in Antigonish, N.S., against the No. 5 STFX X-Women to take the series to the limit. In Game 3 on Wednesday, back in Fredericton, Woodland stopped 33 of 35 shots and stood tall in overtime to lead UNB to a 3-2 (2OT) win.

The UNB REDS are the No. 4 seed in this week’s 2023 U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship, which gets underway in Montréal on Thursday.

Félix Lauzon earned U SPORTS men’s hockey player of the week honours after coming in clutch in a thrilling triple-overtime OUA final game on the road against the Windsor Lancers. After the teams split four goals in the opening period, nobody could find the net through four more periods. However, Lauzon stepped up and scored just 38 seconds into the third overtime period, leading the UQTR Patriotes to their second consecutive Queen’s Cup win. This was Lauzon’s second game-winning goal of this year's playoffs.

The UQTR Patriotes are the No. 2 seed for this week’s Cavendish Farms U SPORTS University Cup, which gets underway on Thursday in Charlottetown.
