Manitoba Bisons kicker Maya Turner’s made Canadian football history as she became the first woman to suit up in a U SPORTS regular season football game, as well as the first woman to score a point in one. 

Turner capped off the historic game by kicking a game-winning field goal to lead the Bisons past the Regina Rams 27-24 at IG Field, home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Turner also converted all three of her extra point attempts for nine points in the victory.

Turner, who took the starting job for the Bisons mid-way through the season, connected on nine field goals with the longest coming from 48 yards. The former soccer player also converted all 14 point after attempts.
