‘Perfect 10’ Nadia Comaneci calls Summer Universiade a career highlight

1. What are your thoughts on representing Team Canada at a major international event, and most specifically at the 2019 FISU Summer Universiade?
Representing Canada at the international stage is always a huge honour. This being my third Summer Universiade, I am excited to utilize everything I’ve learned from my past experiences and channel it towards having my best performances yet.
2. Is this the first time you have been selected to represent Canada on the international stage or at the Universiade? Current track record (national and/or international)?
No, this will be my third Summer Universiade (Gwangju 2015, Taipei 2017).
I have also represented Canada at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, as well as the 2018 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Tokyo.
Prior to my university career, I represented Canada at the junior level a handful of times.
3. What are you most looking forward to in Naples, Italy outside of the competition?
Pizza!!!!!!
4. What are your personal and/or team goals for this Universiade?
As usual, my goal is to better my best times in my two main events (100m and 200m breaststroke), regardless of the place I get.
Canada has a rich history of stellar performances at these Games, and I think we are poised to continue that tradition of excellence.
5. Do you have a nickname in your sport?
Nope.
