Graeme Farrand of the Waterloo Warriors cross country team represented Canada at the 2022 Orienteering World University Championships this past weekend in Magglingen - Biel/Bienne, Switzerland.

Competing in three events from August 17th to 21st, Farrand raced in the individual sprint, individual middle-distance and individual long-distance competitions.

Farrand’s best result came on the first day of competition in the sprint category. Navigating through the city of Biel/Bienne, Farrand set a time of 14:20 in the 3.4 km race – just 2:50 of the gold-medal time.

In the 14 km long-distance event, Farrand set a time of 2:24:46, before posting a 54:16 time in the 4.8 km middle distance race. Both times were good for 79th overall.
