Kylie Masse from the Toronto Varsity Blues and Kadre Gray of the Laurentian Voyageurs are the U SPORTS Male and Female Athletes of the Week for the period ending November 26, 2017.

Fourth-year swimmer Kylie Masse earned four individual and two relay gold medals in leading the Varsity Blues women's swimming team to a first-place finish at the OUA Fairweather division championships this past weekend at the University of Guelph. Masse, the 2017 100m backstroke world champion and world record holder, handily won the 50m (26.70) and 200m (2:04.72) backstroke events. She also won the 100m freestyle in a time of 54.05 seconds. The LaSalle, Ont., native capped off the meet in the 400m freestyle; an event that she does not usually swim. Masse was the first to touch the wall in 4:06.93, the fastest time swam in this event in Canada this year She also helped the Blues to first-place finishes in the 200m freestyle and 200m medley relays. Toronto won the meet with 1,147 points, 513 points ahead of the second-place Western Mustangs (634).

Gray was the Voyageurs’ top performer in the team’s two wins this week, playing a critical role in the eventual outcomes against Guelph and Algoma, respectively. The second-year guard poured in an efficient 39 points against the Gryphons, shooting over 50 per cent from the field and from downtown, to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists. Gray outdid his stat-stuffing efforts in the team’s tilt with Algoma; however, as he collected his second triple double of the season. Gray finished the game with another 30-point performance, this time notching 31, to go along with 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the No.7 Voyageurs to their sixth win of the year. The Toronto native now leads the nation in scoring (26.4 PPG), is third in assists (6.1 APG), and sits in a tie for sixth in the conference in rebounding (8.6 RPG) on the year.
