After 18 years in the role, Université de Moncton director of athletics Marc Boudreau is set to retire this May.

Boudreau was first named director of U Moncton’s department of physical activity and sport in 2003.

He served a three-year term as president of Atlantic University Sport’s management council from 2011 to 2014, helping to roll out the conference’s five-year strategic plan in 2011.

Moncton’s athletic programs captured six AUS conference championship titles under Boudreau’s leadership, including three AUS women’s hockey banners (2007, 2009 & 2014), two men’s hockey titles (2005 & 2007) and one women’s volleyball championship (2009).

The 2009 Aigles Bleues women’s hockey team went on to capture a U SPORTS bronze medal—making them the first AUS team to win a national medal in women’s hockey.

Boudreau also served as the chair of the CIS (now U SPORTS) men’s hockey championships in both 2007 and 2008 when Moncton successfully won their bid to host back-to-back national championships.
