Athletes of the Week: Bishop’s Ulliac, Memorial’s Dolo honoured

Anne-Marie Ulliac of the Bishop’s Gaiters women’s socer team and Emmanuel Dolo from the Memorial Sea-Hawks men’s soccer squad are the U SPORTS Athletes of the Week for the period ending Sept. 12, 2021.

A second-year Modern Languages student at Bishop’s, Ulliac faced a tough challenge to open the 2021 season with the Gaiters. The defending RSEQ regular season champion UQAM Citadins had 20 shots throughout the game, 13 of which were on target and required Ulliac to make a save. Ulliac proved to be a difference maker for the Gaiters in the 1-0 victory and was named the game MVP.

Emmanuel Dolo, Memorial

A first-year forward from St. John’s, N.L., Dolo scored all three Sea-Hawks goals in Memorial’s 3-0 season opener victory over the Mount Allison Mounties in St. John’s, N,L.

He followed this up with his second hat trick of the weekend, and added an assist, in Memorial’s 6-1 over the Mounties on Sunday. He was named Player of the Game following both matches for his efforts.

With seven points in two games to kick off the season, Dolo now leads the nation in both goals and points scored.
