The Montreal Carabins (7-1, 2-0) remain the top seed in men’s football, defeating the Laval Rouge (5-3, 1-1) et Or for the RSEQ conference banner.

With a 28-19 victory over rival No. 5 Laval in the 41st Dunsmore Cup, the No. 1 Carabins have punched their ticket to the Uteck Bowl.

This is the first time the Blues have beat the Rouge et Or three times in a single season.

The Carabins will square off against the winner of the No. 6 Manitoba Bisons (4-2, 1-0) and No. 4 Saskatchewan Huskies (5-1, 1-0) in Canada West’s  Hardy Cup.

The No. 3 Queen’s Gaels (6-0, 2-0) will host the No. 2 Western Mustangs (5-1, 2-0) in the OUA’s Yates Cup, while No. 7 StFX X-Men (6-0, 1-0) will face off against the Bishop’s Gaiters (2-4, 1-0) in the AUS’ Loney Bowl to determine the Mitchell Bowl participants.

In men’s hockey, the No. 1 UNB Red’s (11-1-0) reign of dominance continues after a 6-1 victory over Acadia Axemen (4-9-0) and a 4-1 win over the Saint Mary’s Huskies (5-6-1). UNB’s Austen Keating has been a crucial playmaker for the Reds, notching five goals and 11 helpers through 12 games, while Nicolas Guay has tallied eight goals and eight assists on the season.

On the women’s side, the No.1 McGill Martlets (6-0-0) stay on top of the rankings, stretching their unbeaten streak to six games after topping, then beating the Carleton Ravens (2-4-0) 7-2. Averaging two points per game, Jade Downie-Landry has registered five goals and seven assists through six games this season.

In women’s volleyball, the Alberta Pandas (4-0) have usurped the Trinity Western Spartans (2-0) for the top seed in the U SPORTS women’s volleyball rankings.

The No.1 Pandas have started the season on a roll with four-straight wins. Most recently, the Pandas topped the No. 8 Mount Royal Cougars (2-2) 3-1 then cruised past the MacEwan Griffins (0-4) in straight sets to earn the nation’s top spot. In the Panda’s victory over MRU, head coach Laurie Eisler became the winningest coach in University of Alberta history with 417 wins.

The No.1 Trinity Western Spartans (2-0) enter the second week of men’s volleyball rankings as the top seed after being idle in conference play. The Spartans are currently on a California tour, where they’ve gone 5-1 against some of the best teams in NCAA volleyball.

In women’s basketball, the defending U SPORTS Women’s Final 8 Champions Saskatchewan Huskies led by head coach Lisa Thomaidis have jumped to the top of the rankings. 

The No.1 Huskies (4-0) swept a home-and-home against the Regina Cougars with fifth-year All-Canadian leading the way with 56 points in the two contests.

The Guelph Gryphons break into the Top 10 for the first time in over two years, ranked No. 10.

On the men’s court, the No. 1 Carleton Ravens (2-0) stay the top seed after a week off in conference play. The defending U SPORTS Men’s Final 8 champs will take on the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks (1-3) in a weekend home-and-home, looking to keep their perfect record intact.

In women’s wrestling, the No. 1 Alberta Pandas crew remains the top team in the nation. The No. 9 Rams join the ranking for the first time on the season. No. 5 Brock Badgers will be looking to defend their U SPORTS championship with their tenth-consecutive gold medal this year.

In men’s wrestling, the No. 1 Saskatchewan Huskies remain the top seed in the nation, while the No. 8 Toronto Varsity Blues enter the rankings for the first time on the season. The No. 3 Brock Badgers will be eyeing their 21st national title after taking home gold in 2019.

In women’s cross country, the No. 1Guelph Gryphons remain the top seed to close out the season. Gryphon’s standout Gibson will look for gold at the U SPORTS Cross-Country Championships hosted by No. 2 Laval.

On the men’s side, No. 1 Laval Rouge et Or will take their top ranking into the U SPORTS Cross-Country Championships in which they’ll host at the Plains of Abraham. Laval is looking for their first U SPORTS title since 2016.
