Madalyn Weinert, a third year guard for the Brock Badgers lead her team in a pair of home wins on over the Toronto and York. Weinert led all scorers with 29 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double in a 79-69 win over the Varsity Blues on Friday. She then had 24 points in an 82-51 win over the York Lions on Saturday, finishing one rebound shy of another double-double. Weinert and the Badgers are back in action this Saturday in Toronto for a matchup against Toronto Metropolitan.
Marcus Barnes, a second-year guard for UNB, lead his team with back-to-back home court wins over Memorial on the weekend. In Friday’s 77-65 win over the Sea-Hawks, Barnes scored 19 points and grabbed four rebounds, earning Player of the Game honours. Barnes then scored 27 points on Saturday on 10-for-15 shooting and had five rebounds in the 85-73 win, again earning Player of the Game honours. Barnes and the Reds are back in action this weekend as they host the UPEI Panthers.
