1. What attracted you to the University of Calgary?

The opportunity to play basketball in Canada combined with a respected university degree.

2. What’s your favourite memory, and your greatest athletic achievement as a U SPORTS student-athlete?

Winning the Canada West championship at home here in the Jack Simpson Gymnasium (in 2016) was by far the best experience, especially because my dad was able to make it to Canada from Germany to watch the Final Four.

3. Where are you hoping your path will take you after university?

Hopefully I’ll have a few options to choose from, either going back home or staying in Canada. Hopefully I can play some pro ball.

4. Who’s had the greatest influence on your athletic career?

My coach in Germany, former Dino Chris Harris - he taught me a great deal about motivation and composure on the court. Without him I would not be here today.

5. Who is someone in the sports world, past or present, with whom you’d love to have dinner with? Why?

I would love to have dinner with my fellow countryman Dirk Nowitzki. He’s been around for so many years in the NBA and has been an idol of mine for a while.

6. What is your pre-game ritual? Do you have any superstitions/idiosyncrasies around preparing yourself for a game?

Yeah, I have to wear my suit and show up early to watch the women play just to get in the mind set to take care of business. Then I usually just listen to my music during the game and before the pre-game talk. After that, I’ll talk to teammates to see how everyone is doing and if they’re ready for the game.

7. What’s your go-to song to get pumped up for practice or a game?

Shoot to Thrill, AC/DC

8. What’s your favourite social media account to follow?

House of highlights on Instagram and University of Calgary Dinos https://twitter.com/UCDinos

9. If you could try another sport, what would it be and why?

I’d try out some volleyball, mostly because I’m tall and that’s one of the prerequisites to play!

10. What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you as an athlete?

I usually try to forget about all the embarrassing things that happen to me on the court, but this one time I was diving for a ball and crashed into the bleachers and ripped my shorts. I had to change behind the bench and all we had were small shorts, so I had to play in skin tight shorts, which was quite hilarious to watch.
