Canada Basketball announced Monday the 19 athletes participating in Canada’s Senior Men’s National Team training camp ahead of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

As a result of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and current quarantine protocols for training in Canada, the Senior Men’s National Team are holding training camp in Tampa, Florida next month at the Toronto Raptors temporary training facilities before travelling to Victoria ahead of the start of the tournament.

Canada is hosting one of four FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments at the Victoria Memorial Arena in Victoria, B.C from June 29-July 4, 2021.  Fans in Canada can catch all the action live on CBC across its various platforms, both on television and online, as well as streamed on DAZN.

CANADA DROPS DOUBLE OT DECISION TO BRAZIL TO CONCLUDE FIBA WOMEN'S AMERICUP 2021

The Canadian Senior Women’s National Team dropped a hard fought 87-82 double-overtime loss to Brazil in the bronze-medal game at the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2021. After coming back from a 15-point deficit to start the fourth quarter, Canada stumbled in the second overtime and Brazil took advantage to get the victory and place third overall in the tournament.

“These close games are really a gift for us to be in, to be honest,” head coach Lisa Thomaidis of the Saskatchewan Huskies said. “We’re certainly disappointed we didn't come out on the winning end, but it shows a lot about our team. They fought hard, hard, hard. They showed a lot of passion, a lot of grit today.
