Kali Pocrnic of the Carleton Ravens helped sweep the weekend and lead the Ravens to a second Final 8 championship in program history, as she was named the most valuable player of the tournament. In the 56-51 quarterfinal game win over the hosts from Cape Breton, the sophomore collected 15 points and four assists. The point guard from Oakville, Ontario, followed up with another big performance in the Ravens’ 65-46 semifinal win on Saturday, notching 17 points and seven assists against Saint Mary’s. In the gold-medal game, Pocrnic scored a team-high 20 points and eight assists to lead the top-seeded Ravens to a 71-59 win over No. 3 Queen’s.

Aiden Warnholtz scored 73 points over three games this past weekend as the Carleton Ravens won their 17th Final 8 championship title. Warnholtz was named the most valuable player of the tournament. Warnholtz scored an impressive 29 points, six rebounds, one assist, and one steal in a 73-71 quarterfinal win against UQAM. On Saturday, the fourth-year guard scored 21 points, ten assists, and seven rebounds in an 81-75 semifinal win against Ottawa, their hometown rival. In the championship game against host STFX, Warnholtz scored the three-point shot to send the game to overtime. The health sciences student scored 23 points, 11 assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block in the record-setting 109-104 (2OT) win. Warnholtz earned Nike Player of the Game in each of Carleton’s three games.
