Carleton’s Kali Pocrnic and UQAM’s Kevin Civil have been named the U SPORTS basketball players of the week for the period ending March 5, 2023.

Second-year Kali Pocrnic helped the Carleton Ravens to the OUA Critelli Cup Championship with a pair of dominating games. In the Ravens’ 69-55 semifinal win on Wednesday, the guard collected 21 points, four rebounds, and two steals against McMaster. In the dominating 70-57 win in the championship game against the Queen's Gaels on Saturday, Pocrnic notched 23 points and three rebounds, earning most valuable player honours in the title game.

Kevil Civil averaged 27 points as UQAM took on the Concordia Stingers and the Bishop’s Gaiters in the RSEQ playoffs. Civil scored an impressive 31 points, one rebound, one assist, and one steal in an 80-69 victory over the Stingers in Thursday’s conference semi-final. On Saturday, the fourth-year guard scored 23 points, five rebounds, six assists and a steal in an 88-71 win in the RSEQ Championship.
