The Guelph Gryphons (87 points) edge out No. 3 Western Mustangs (75 points) to earn the women's team title at the Bayfront Open hosted by the No. 5 McMaster (55 points) Marauders in Hamilton, Ont. on Friday.

Guelph's Sadie-Jane Hickson finished the course in a time of 28:44.4, gapping Western's Sophie Coutts (29:03.6) by 19.3 seconds to claim first in the eight-kilometre race. Mustang Anna Carruthers completed the course in a time of 29:09.0 to place third. Guelph had three other finishers in the top 10, Olivia Roussel (29:11.7), Nina Whitford (29:12.4) and Sandra Guga (29:30.4), contributing a total of 19 points towards the team's 31 points overall.

No. 5 McMaster Marauders (55 points) finished third in the team scoring and held serve in the U SPORTS Top 10. No. 6 Queen's Gaels (42 points) finished fourth overall and moved up one position in the rankings, followed by No. 10 Toronto Varsity Blues (12 points), who dropped one place in the Top 10.
