Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week: Kyla Becker, UBC

  • Program: Arts 

Kyla Becker and her squad ran at the Vigars & Salter Western Invitational in London, and she completed the eight-kilometre race in 29:37.0. She was the first to cross the Thames Valley Golf Course finish line and her teammates followed right behind to capture the silver and bronze medal. The Thunderbirds women’s squad finished with a combined score of 17 to win the team gold medal.

Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week: Philippe Morneau-Cartier, Laval

  • Program: Medicine  

Philippe Morneau-Cartier won his first victory of the cross-country season Saturday at the Plains of Abraham during the Rouge et Or Invitational in Quebec City. He dominated the competition with a time of 24:35.8, as his closest pursuer was 43 seconds away. Morneau-Cartier's performance allowed the Laval men's team to win the team competition.
