Kyla Becker and her Thunderbirds teammates raced at the Saturday's Heat Invitational 8km meet in Kelowna, B.C. She picked up her second individual victory of the season and crossed the finish line with a time of 28:40. Her teammate Katie Newlove finished the race just four seconds after Becker, collecting the silver medal. Her efforts led UBC to win the team title with 37 points, 20 ahead of second-place Victoria.
Phillipe Morneau-Cartier and his teammates headed to New Brunswick for the AUS-RSEQ Interlock race, where he got his second victory of the season. He dominated the competition by completing the 8km course in 25:16, 11 seconds ahead of the second-place runner. Laval took over the podium as Morneau-Cartier finished first, and his teammates, Jean-Simon Desgagnés and Jonathan Tedeschi, finished second and third, leading Laval to win the team title with 21 points, well ahead of second-place UNB.
