Men’s Cross Country News

The 2019-20 U SPORTS Top 8 Academic All-Canadians unveiled last month were celebrated in a live one-hour show Presented by Sherrard Kuzz LLP on Wednesday night.

Hosted by NBA TV Canada / Toronto Raptors personality and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Producer Savanna Hamilton – a former member of the Ryerson Rams women’s basketball team from 2014-18 – the broadcast showcased the accomplishments of each member of this year’s Top 8 class.

Highlights included their exceptional performances on the field of play and in the classroom and how they balance both sides of being a student-athlete, the mentors that have left an impact on their success, key learning experiences from the past year, and the lookahead to the next steps in their respective careers.

Last season, over 4,900 U SPORTS student-athletes achieved Academic All-Canadian honours, having maintained an average of 80 per cent or better over the academic year while competing for one or more of their university’s U SPORTS varsity teams. Among these outstanding individuals, one female and one male student-athlete from each of the four U SPORTS conferences are selected annually to make up the Top 8.
