The puck has dropped on the men’s hockey conference playoffs, with a pair of best-of-three series in Canada West and the AUS, while 16 teams have begun the Quest for the Queen’s Cup. OUA hockey fans could be in for a real treat on Sunday with seven decisive Game 3s scheduled. Catch all of the postseason action on CanadaWest.TV, OUA.TV and AUStv.ca.

One the women’s side, CW and AUS have begun their best-of-three series with a pair of quarterfinal matchups. Meanwhile in the Ontario, the No. 7 Guelph Gryphons will host the Toronto Varsity Blues in a matchup of two of the province’s playoff-bound teams to wrap up the 2018-19 regular season on Saturday. Although Guelph has already secured the top seed in the OUA leading into the playoffs, Toronto can move up from third to second by sweeping Waterloo and Guelph this weekend combined with a Western loss.

The RSEQ regular season will also wrap up on Sunday.

Also, Canada’s National Women’s team is going head to head against Team USA in a three-game Rivalry Series this week with stops in London, Toronto and Detroit. Keep an eye out for U SPORTS alumni Ann-Sophie Bettez (McGill), Katelyn Gosling (Western), and Brigette Lacquette (Manitoba). CW Quarterfinals tip off with Dinos looking to protect title

The Canada West Quarterfinals go down this week as Calgary, Alberta, UBC and Saskatchewan are each hosting best-of-three series. The defending Canada West and U SPORTS champion Calgary Dinos will look to defend their title from last season, while the others will be looking to move on to the semifinals and attempt to qualify for the 2019 Canada West Championship and the U SPORTS Men’s Final 8 in Halifax. Rams looking to secure first place before it’s too late

 The No.4-ntionally ranked Ryerson Rams - hosts of this year's Women’s Basketball Final 8 - are eyeing top spot in OUA East standings as their regular season comes to a close this weekend. The team currently sits in second at 17-4, behind only the Ottawa Gee-Gees who are 19-2. On Friday, the Rams play the York Lions (8-13) before taking on the Queen's Gaels (13-8) on Saturday. The Rams have beaten both teams this season and will look to sweep the season series. Catch Friday’s game at 6:00 p.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. PT and Saturday’s contest at 6:00 p.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. PT on OUA.tv.

The AUS and RSEQ regular seasons will wrap up next weekend.

Volleyball

Both Canada West and AUS volleyball completes their regular season on Saturday as teams fight for final playoff spots. On the men’s side, defending U SPORTS champion UBC (9-11) visits Calgary (10-10) for a weekend set, looking to secure the eighth and final playoff spot in the conference. First serve flies Friday at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT followed by the women at 2:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 a.m. PT as part of a school day doubleheader on CanadaWest.TV.

In the AUS, the No.1-ranked Dalhousie Tigers women look to finish their season with just one regulation loss as they travel to UNB and Moncton. Friday’s game begins at 5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT, while Saturday’s goes at 3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT on AUStv.ca.

The RSEQ men’s season also wraps up this weekend, while the OUA will conclude its schedule next week.

Track and Field

Last Chance Meets highlight important weekend

This weekend is an important one for track and field athletes still looking to qualify for the U SPORTS Championships at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. The top 12 athletes in each individual event punch their ticket to the national final, and the Hal Brown Last Chance Meet in Toronto on Friday, the Guelph Last Chance Meet on Friday and Saturday, and the Carleton Last Chance Meet in Ottawa give athletes a final opportunity to climb up the rankings before the conference championships next weekend. In Toronto, Varsity Blue and double-silver medalist at the 2018 U SPORTS Championships Lucia Stafford will run her first 1000m of the season, while Ezana Debalkew will aim to better his national No. 2 rank in the men's weight throw.

In Guelph, the men's 1500m will be stacked with accomplished metric milers. Defending U SPORTS cross country champion Connor Black will size himself up to his teammate and 10th-ranked U SPORTS runner Mark Patton. Their teammates Ben Workman, Josh Kellier and Mitchell Ubene will aim find their niche in the top 12.

On the women's side, all eyes will be on University of Toronto's Jasmine Lew, as the top long jumper in the country attempts to further separate herself from the competition. Events begin at 2:00 p.m. ET / 11:00 a.m. PT on Friday in Toronto, and at 4:30 p.m. ET / 1:30 p.m. PT in Guelph.

Laurier looks for home ice win at OUA Championships

The OUA Curling Championships run from Feb.14-18 at the K-W Granite Club, and hosted by the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo, Ont. The hosts will look to dominate with home ice advantage and earn another provincial banner to their already full accolades. The competition will be full with 16 teams battling it out for championship glory on OUA.TV. The two finalists advance to the U SPORTS / Curling Canada Curling Championships at Willie O’Ree Place in Fredericton, N.B., next month. You can view the full national championship calendar here.
