Quarterback Hugo Richard, linebacker Adam Auclair and kicker David Côté of the Vanier Cup champion Laval Rouge et Or are the final U SPORTS Football Players of the Week for the 2018 season

For the second time in his career on Saturday, Richard won the Ted Morris Memorial Trophy, as Vanier Cup MVP. In the final game of his U SPORTS career, Richard completed 23 of his 31 passes, and threw for two touchdowns, in addition to scoring a rushing major. In all, the Laval pivot amassed 348 passing yards and 60 more on the ground.

Auclair received the Bruce Coulter Award on Saturday, awarded to the Vanier Cup Defensive MVP. Auclair made a pair of important games to start of the second half, which led to 10 points: a tackle for loss on the ground while Western was deep in Laval territory, and an interception. In total, Auclair recorded 10.5 tackles, including nine solo.

The Rouge et Or kicker was perfect in two attempts. He first gave the Laval side a 10-0 lead in the first quarter with a 23-yard kick. Then, at the start of the third frame, his nine-yard kick helped Laval take the lead 27-13. Côté also maintained an excellent 52.6-yard average on five kickoffs.
