McGill Athletics | Duvernay-Tardif named co-winner of Lou Marsh Award as Canada’s top athlete of 2020

Defensive back Nelson Lokombo of the Saskatchewan Huskies got a little bit of a late present on Tuesday, Dec. 29 when it was announced that the reigning U SPORTS Defensive Player of the Year had been named to the roster for the 2021 East-West Shrine Bowl.
Typically a showcase game for graduating student-athletes across North America, the East-West Shrine Bowl is America’s oldest college football all-star game, dating back to its original contest in 1925. The most recent East-West Shrine Bowl, played this past January, currently boasts more than 100 members of its roster on NFL rosters this fall. While this year’s edition is cancelled due to complications brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, game organizers will announce all-star selections throughout December to recognize outstanding senior seasons. In conjunction with the National Football League, players will participate in virtual training sessions in preparation for the NFL Draft.
