A record-high 208 products from U SPORTS institutions were listed on Canadian Football League rosters heading into the 2021 CFL season, which kicks off tonight. The total matches the record set in 2019.

The six-team Canada West conference leads the way with 87 players on CFL rosters, followed by the 11-team OUA (61). The Quebec-based RSEQ, a five-team league since Bishop's departed in 2017, has 47 players listed and the five-team AUS has 15.

In total, 25 of 27 U SPORTS football programs will be represented in the CFL this summer. The University of Calgary once again leads all U SPORTS institutions with 22 former Dinos on CFL lineups. They are one of seven schools to hit double digits, along with McMaster (17), the Montreal Carabins (16), Laval (15), Wilfrid Laurier (15), Guelph (11) and Western (10).

The Montreal Alouettes open the new campaign with a CFL-high 31 former Canadian university players within their ranks, followed by Ottawa (28), Calgary (27), Toronto (24), Hamilton (23), Saskatchewan (22), Edmonton (20), Winnipeg (20) and British Columbia (13).
