Offensive Player of the Week: Mason Nyhus, Saskatchewan

Fifth-year quarterback Mason Nyhus earns this week’s nod as U SPORTS Offensive Player of the Week.
The Education student from Regina, Sask. completed 26 of 35 passes for 408-yards and five touchdowns including a 75-yard strike on the first play of the game as the Huskies routed the Calgary Dinos 44-5. He is the first Canada West field general to record five touchdown tosses in a contest since Adam Sinagra in 2018.
Defensive Player of the Week: Markcus Jean-Loescher, Saint Mary's

Third-year linebacker Markcus Jean-Loescher of the Saint Mary’s Huskies is the U SPORTS defensive player of the week.
The Arts major hails from Toronto and led the Huskies with six tackles, including two tackles for a loss (13 yards), a sack and a forced fumble in SMU’s 31-11 home win over the Acadia Axemen last Friday. His first-quarter strip sack was returned for a touchdown, giving the Huskies an early 10-0 lead.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Adryon Thompson, Mount Allison

Mount Allison Mounties defensive back Adryon Thompson is the U SPORTS special teams player of the week.
The third-year Science student fired up the hometown crowd with a pair of blocked punts on Saturday, the first of which he recovered for a 23-yard touchdown. The Sackville-born Thompson also recorded 1.5 tackles for the Mounties, who defeated the visiting Bishop’s Gaiters 18-15.
