Shae Demale of Saint Mary’s and STFX’s Josh Nelson have been named the U SPORTS hockey athletes of the week for the period ending December 4, 2022.

Shae Demale made her 50th career goal a big one, as she notched the game-winner in the Huskies’ 3-1 win over then-No. 5 STFX last Tuesday. Demale assisted on the two other SMU markers and was a +3 on the evening.
Josh Nelson, STFX

- Hometown: Lockport, Ill.
Josh Nelson scored five goals in two close STFX losses this week. In the X-Men’s 5-4 (OT) loss to Acadia last Wednesday, he tallied two of the STFX goals and was named player of the game. He followed up with a hat trick on Friday, scoring all three X goals in their 4-3 loss at SMU. His 13 goals on the season are tied for second overall in U SPORTS and first in the AUS.
