UPEI forward Ashley McCutcheon and Brock’s Adam Berg have been named the U SPORTS hockey players of the week for the period ending January 22, 2023.

Ashley McCutcheon, a second-year forward for the UPEI Panthers, put up a pair of goals as the team won 3-2 in a game against the then-No. 7 STFX X-Women. McCutcheon led the Panthers to victory with the game-tying goal late in the third period and followed that up with the overtime game-winner.

McCutcheon and the UPEI Panthers return to action Wednesday when they begin their three-game road trip to STFX, UNB and St. Thomas.


Adam Berg, Brock

Adam Berg, a fourth-year forward, helped the Badgers to back-to-back wins this week, putting up a total of eight points in games against Western and Windsor. Berg tallied three points in their 5-2 win at Western, notching two goals – including a power play goal – along with an assist on the eventual game-winner. He then set a new single-game career high with five points against the No. 6 Lancers with two goals, including the game-winner, and three assists in Brock’s 7-4 win over Windsor.

Adam Berg and the Brock Badgers host the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday before facing the Waterloo Warriors on the road on Saturday.
