U SPORTS announced today the Top 10 ranking in women’s hockey for the period ending January 8, 2023.

In a strong display of offence, the Toronto Varsity Blues (13-2-0) shutout the York Lions 3-0 on Friday before defeating then-ranked No. 4 Nipissing Lakers (12-2-1) 6-2 on Sunday at Varsity Arena. With this win, the Blues become the nation’s team to beat. UBC Thunderbirds (14-2-2) drop to No. 3.

The UNB REDS (16-1-2) climb two positions to No. 4 following a 2-0 win over Dalhousie on Friday and a 2-1 shootout victory over No. 7 STFX X-Women (12-3-2) on Saturday. In more Top 10 action, the Alberta Pandas (14-5-1) took on the Mount Royal Cougars (14-5-1) in a weekend tilt that saw the Pandas soar three positions to No. 6; the Cougars dropped to No. 9.

No. 10 Montréal Carabins (9-2-3) re-enter the ranking.
