Women’s Hockey News

The UBC Thunderbirds (24-2-2, 2-1) remain at the top of the U SPORTS women's hockey playoff rankings for a third week after winning the Canada West semifinal series against the Saskatchewan Huskies. Only teams still participating in conference playoffs or qualified for the U SPORTS championship are eligible to be listed in the U SPORTS playoff rankings.

There was no movement in the top four teams as No. 2 Toronto (23-2-2, 2-0), No.  3 Concordia (20-4-1, 2-0), and No. 4 UNB (23-2-3, 3-1) maintained their positions.

Coming in at No. 5, advancing one position, are the Montréal Carabins (17-4-4, 2-1), and moving up three positions into No. 6 are the Nipissing Lakers (19-4-3, 2-0). Rounding out the rankings is No. 7 STFX (20-5-3, 2-1), No. 8 Guelph (18-4-5, 2-1), No. 9 Mount Royal (19-6-3, 4-2), and No. 10 Waterloo (21-5-1, 2-1)

This week, top-ranked UBC faces ninth-ranked Mount Royal in the best-of-three Canada West final.
