Women's hockey player of the week: Annick Boudreau, UDEM

Annick Boudreau of the Moncton’s Aigles Bleues helped lead her team to a pair of wins this past Friday and Saturday. On Friday's game, against the St. Thomas Tommies, ended with a 3-0 win for the Aigles Bleues as she stopped all 23 shots she faced. On Saturday against Mount Allison, she made 19 saves in a 6-0 win also for the Aigles Bleues, giving her a total of 42 saves on her perfect weekend. Boudreau helped to motivate her teammates to not only push themselves offensively but also defensively.

The Aigles Bleues will play their next game this Friday against the Saint Mary’s Huskies.

Men's hockey player of the week: Christian Purboo, Queen's

  • Academic Program: Economics

Christian Purboo for the Queen’s University Gaels had a great weekend in the Gaels’ two games against the Toronto Varsity Blues and the Concordia Stingers. Purboo had an 18-save shutout leading them to a 3-0 win against the Varsity Blues. Purboo continued his performance into the Gaels’ next game saving 38 of 39 shots against the Stingers leading them to a 3-1 win. Purboo had an overall .982 save percentage this weekend.

Queen’s will host their next game against the Stingers this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Kingston Memorial Centre.
