Alberta’s Laumbach, TMU’s Bollers named U SPORTS Hockey athletes of the week
The Alberta Golden Bears are back on top of the U SPORTS Men’s Hockey Top 10 after the Bears sweep the Manitoba Bisons in back-to-back 7-1 wins on home ice. Ryan Hughes scored twice, including one on the man advantage, with Dawson Davison and Dylan Plouffe also adding powerplay markers. In game two, Captain Matt Fonteyne led the charge with two goals and one assist, with rookie phenom Jakin Smallwoodalso adding two goals in the third period.
No. 6 Calgary Dinos jump three positions, while the UPEI Panthers and Concordia Stingers enter the Top 10 at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.
