Paige Rynne, Waterloo

Paige Rynne of Waterloo is the U SPORTS women’s hockey player of the week, after scoring the goal that gave the Warriors the OUA title. In the OUA final game on Saturday, Rynne assisted on Waterloo’s first goal, in the first period. She hit paydirt in overtime, scoring the game-winning goal to give Waterloo a 2-1 win over Toronto and the Ontario banner for the first time in program history.

The Waterloo Warriors now head to Saskatoon for the U SPORTS championship, with their first game set for 3 p.m. (Eastern) time on Thursday against StFX, the AUS finalists.

Austen Keating, UNB

Austen Keating of UNB is this week’s USPORTS Men’s Hockey Player of the Week. Keating played a role in all three goals in the Reds’ AUS-clinching win over Moncton. The Reds capped their perfect season with a 3-0 win to sweep the Moncton Aigles Bleus in the AUS final, with Keating assisting on all three goals in the final game.

The Reds head into the 2024 University Cup tournament, set for Thursday to Sunday in Toronto, as the top seed.
