Laval to play for gold with defeat of Guelph

VICTORIA (U SPORTS) – Four Laval student-athletes found the scoresheet during the Rouge et Or’s 30-8 win victory over the Guelph Gryphons on Nov. 4 in their semifinal game at the 2022 U SPORTS Women’s Rugby Championship on Friday.

Laval’s tries were scored in the seventh, 12th, 41st, and 43rd minutes by Laura Guay, Annabelle Parent, and Marie-Pier Fauteux (2), respectively, while Emily Clark scored a try in the 44th minute to reply in a losing cause for Guelph.

With this win, Laval advances to play the winner of Queen’s/Ottawa on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. PT in the championship final, while Guelph takes on the loser of Queen’s/Ottawa in the bronze medal game.
