VICTORIA (U SPORTS) – Tia Jordo’s try in the final seconds proved to be a winner as the UBC Thunderbirds defeated the Victoria Vikes, 20-15, in the fifth-place game at the 2022 U SPORTS Women’s Rugby Championship on Sunday, Nov. 6.

UBC’s tries were scored in the seventh, 19th and 80th minutes by Rachel Smith, Savannah Bauder, and Jordo, respectively, while Summer Blackmore responded in the 29th minute and Lucie Romeo in the 49th and 77th minutes in a losing cause for Victoria.

With this win, UBC ends their season with an overall regular and post-season record of 8-1-1, while Victoria finishes with a 5-4-1 record in 2022.
