VICTORIA (U SPORTS) – Lizzie Gibson’s penalty goal with no time left on the clock proved to be a winner as the Queen’s Gaels defeated the Victoria Vikes, 13-10, in their quarterfinal game at the 2022 U SPORTS Women’s Rugby Championship on November 2.
Queen’s points were scored in the 14th, 48th, and 70th minutes by Gibson with two penalty goals and Maggie Banks with the try, while Lucie Romeo replied with two tries in the Vikes’ effort.
With this win, Queen’s advances to play Ottawa on Friday, November 4 at 7 p.m. PT at Centennial Stadium, while Victoria takes on UPEI in the consolation semifinal on November 4 at 3 p.m. PT.
