UBC defeats Victoria for fifth place at U SPORTS championship

VICTORIA (U SPORTS) – Claire Gallagher struck for 12 points as the Ottawa Gee-Gees topped the Guelph Gryphons, 29-7, in the bronze medal match at the 2022 U SPORTS Women’s Rugby Championship on Nov. 6.
Ottawa’s tries were scored in the eighth, 36th, 75th, and 80th minutes by Gallagher, Talia Hennessy, Deborah Oyetoran and Ketsia Kamba, respectively, while Taylor McKnight replied in the 20th minute in a losing cause for Guelph.
With this win, Ottawa ends their season with an overall regular and post-season record of 8-3-0, while Guelph ends the year at 7-4-0 overall.
