After the game settled down, Sadie Gluvic put the T-Birds ahead for good as she smashed the ball down in the the goal area in the 29th minute. Bauder – the 2023 U SPORTS player of the year – added another try and UBC took a 22-14 halftime lead.

Two quick tries by Rachel Smith, who won player-of-the-game honours for UBC, sealed the deal, while Ella Blyth of Ottawa and Bauder added late tries to round out the scoring. Jamie Lee Walker won player of the game honours for Ottawa, after completing all three of her conversion attempts.
