The Calgary Dinos and Trinity Western Spartans are the new teams to beat in U SPORTS football and women’s soccer.

The defending Vanier Cup champion Dinos (1-0) reclaimed the No.1 spot after beating the No. 6 ranked Saskatchewan Huskies (0-1) 34-20 in their season opener at McMahon Stadium, while the Spartans grabbed the top ranking in women’s soccer after pushing their record to 6-0 in regular season play with a pair of shutout wins over the Fraser Valley Cascades (0-2-2). They were Trinity Western’s fourth and fifth consecutive blanking of Canada West opponents.

In other U SPORTS rankings, the Montreal Carabins (4-0) and the defending U SPORTS champion Laval Rouge et Or (3-0) remain at No. 1 for another week in the sports of men’s soccer and women’s rugby respectively.
