Vance found herself at the end of a superb set play executed by Sierra Halldorson to head the ball on a rebound off Calgary keeper Caley Leask. The Spartans tied the score before the hour of play when Holland Stiel buried a Tilly James cross in the back of the net at the 59th minute. Calgary had opened the score in the fourth minute of play, taking advantage of an error from TWU keeper Hannah Miller. In a race for the ball on the left side at the top of the box, Miller was easily played by Jayden Berg, who had no trouble scoring in an empty cage despite the aggressive coverage from a Spartan defender.

TWU will play a third and final game at this national tournament, Saturday, November 12 at 11 a.m. ET, battling for fifth place against the winner of the other consolation semifinal between the UBC Thunderbirds and the York Lions. The Calgary Dinos close their season with an overall cumulative record of 11-6-2 in 2022.
