Amanda Smith was named player of the game for both matches against Moncton and UNB lat week. In Friday’s 8-0 win over Moncton, she scored four goals and had three assists. She continued her excellent performance by scoring both goals in Saturday’s 2-0 win against UNB. Her touch around the net had led the team to be ranked No. 1 ranked to a perfect 12-0-0 undefeated season in the AUS. She finished tied for first in U SPORTS with 28 points, third in goals (22), and moved to third overall in AUS career goals scored with 50.
Logan Rieck was player of the game in both shutout wins for the X-Men this weekend. In Friday’s game against Moncton, he scored one goal and had one assist, leading his team to win 3-0. He then scored two goals on Saturday’s 3-0 match against UNB. Logan is tied for first in AUS scoring with 11 points and third in goals with eight. The back-to-back wins over the weekend resulted in the X-Men clinching a first-round bye in this week’s AUS championship tournament.
