Hannah Miller led Trinity Western to their 10th Canada West championship this past weekend in Vancouver. She was unbeatable last weekend, making two saves in a 2-0 semifinal win over Victoria on Thursday. She then made six saves as the Spartans drew with top-ranked UBC 0-0 in Friday’s CW final. In the sixth round of the penalty shootout, she made the decisive save by diving to her left and narrowly pushing the incoming shot wide and off the post. The Spartans now head to the U SPORTS national championship in Kingston, Ont. This is the Spartans' 14th appearance at the national championship.
Aidan Dumoulin made some huge saves that led his team to win the Canada West soccer championship, as they defeated UBC 1-0 last week. The rookie from Calgary saved all five shots on net, as he kept a clean sheet for the 11th time the season. His efforts led the Cougars to their first ever conference title and first-ever berth in the U SPORTS championship. The Cougars, who come into the U SPORTS championship as the top seed, will play their quarter-final game against York on Thursday.
