Sitting neck-and-neck in their division, the No.8 Ottawa Gees Gees’ women’s soccer team will look to hold off the No.7 Queens Gaels, as they begin to creep up to them in the standings. The match will take place in Gees-Gees territory Saturday – host of this season’s U SPORTS championship. Ottawa is led by one of the top forwards in the country, Emma Lefebvre – who leads the nation in scoring with 10 goals on the season thus far. Not far behind is the Gaels’ own strike, Jenny Wolever, who has racked up six goals and four assists in Queens’ first six games. Ottawa is hoping to bounce back after losing their first game of the season to Nipissing last week by a score of 3-1, while Queen’s is currently riding a three-game win streak after holding their last two opponents scoreless.
