Men’s Soccer News

For the first time in school history, the Université de Montréal has earned the #1 ranking in U SPORTS football, women’s soccer and men’s soccer at the same time.

The Carabins football team (4-1) took over the top ranking in Canada after a convincing 43-7 win over the Sherbrooke Vert & Or (1-4), while the defending Vanier Cup champions and former No.1 Calgary Dinos (1-1) were upended by the previously unranked Regina Rams (1-1). With the win, Regina is no. 9 in Canada and cracks the U SPORTS football top 10 for the first time since 2018 pre-season rankings.

The Carabins women’s soccer team (7-0-0) leapt over Trinity Western Spartans (8-0-0) recording back-to-back shutouts this past weekend over the Laval Rouge et Or (5-1-1) and the UQÀM Citadins (3-2-2).

In men’s soccer, the Carabins (6-0-0) remained no. 1 in Canada by recording their third and fourth consecutive shutouts of the campaign over Laval (3-1-2) and UQÀM (0-4-2).

The two-time defending U SPORTS champion Victoria Vikes (4-0-0) are the no. 1 team in Canada in the first U SPORTS field hockey national rankings since 2004, followed by the Toronto Varsity Blues (2-0-1) and York Lions (2-0-1).

In Cross-Country, the University of Guelph Gryphons are ranked first in both the women’s and men’s disciplines, followed by Université Laval.
