Women’s Swimming News

The Alberta Golden Bears and Ryerson Rams are the new teams to beat in men’s hockey and women’s volleyball.

On the ice, the Golden Bears (9-1-0) are back on top of the national rankings after a home-and-home sweep of the Calgary Dinos. Alberta hosts the Regina Cougars this weekend.

On the volleyball court, the Rams (6-0) return to the No.1 ranking for the first time since the final week of last season (Mar. 5, 2019) thanks to a pair of five-set victories over Guelph and then-ranked No.5 Waterloo. In their lone game this coming weekend, the Rams will host the RMC Paladins on Friday night.

In other U SPORTS rankings, Concordia (women’s hockey), Carleton (men’s basketball), Saskatchewan (women’s basketball), Calgary (men’s swimming), UBC (women’s swimming), Trinity Western (men’s volleyball) remain at No.1 for another week.

For the second straight season, U SPORTS is using the ELO Rating System for the calculation of its weekly national rankings. Powered by RankR, ELO’s unique algorithm blends a statistical calculation with customized variables that is adaptable across a range of sports. For more information, click here.
