Ainsley McMurray, Toronto

Ainsley McMurray is named the U SPORTS female swimmer of the week after her showing at the OUA championships held in St. Catharines, Ont. Leading the charge for the Varsity Blues, the fifth-year veteran took home six gold medals, as she won the 50 metre, 100 metre and 200 metre freestyle events, as well as the 50m butterfly and the 4x100m medley. The impressive results of the weekend earned McMurray an OUA record in the 50m freestyle (24.72) and the Relay freestyle (3:42.58). She was named the OUA Female Swimmer of the Year.

McMurray and the Blues are back in the water at the U SPORTS championships, to be held from March 7-9 in Pointe-Claire, Que.

Eric Ginzburg, York

Eric Ginzburg of York is the U SPORTS male swimmer of the week, after shining at the OUA championships in St. Catharines, Ont. Ginzburg took home four gold medals over the course of a three-day competition. He touched the wall first in the 100m butterfly - setting an OUA record with a time of 52.74 seconds, the 50m butterfly, the 50m freestyle and the 100m freestyle. Ginzburg took home the OUA Male Swimmer of the Year award.

Next up for Ginzburg and the Lions is the U SPORTS championships, to be held from March 7-9 in Pointe-Claire, Que.
