  1. What attracted you to U of Lethbridge?

I came to Lethbridge because it is close to home and for the new media program, which I’ve switched for art anyways. It was a nice bonus that they happened to have great track coaches here.

  1. What’s your favourite memory, and your greatest athletic achievement as a U SPORTS student-athlete?

My greatest sports achievement is going to Taipei for the Summer Universiade with Team Canada.

  1. Where are you hoping your path will take you after university?

No idea. If I were a professional athlete, artist, or trophy wife that would be ideal really.

  1. Who’s had the greatest influence on your athletic career?

My coach Jaime Thomas is the reason I’ve ever been successful in my sport. He also deals with me when I’m acting like a brat, so who’s the real champ here?

  1. Who is someone in the sports world, past or present, with whom you’d love to have dinner with? Why?

Having dinner with Roger Federer would be amazing. He’s the King of the gentleman’s sport - who can beat that?

  1. What is your pre-game ritual? Do you have any superstitions/idiosyncrasies around preparing yourself for a game?

I’m generally laid-back when it comes to preparing for competition. The only preference I have is to not listen to music so I’m available to have conversations with my competitors and anyone else I might run into on the track.

  1. What’s your go-to song to get pumped up for practice or a game?

I do get pretty excited whenever someone puts anything by blink-182 on the speaker.

  1. What’s your favourite social media account to follow?

An Instagram account I enjoy keeping up with is dafneschippers. She’s so chill, she just plays with her dogs all day and bakes in between training for sprints.

  1. If you could try another sport, what would it be and why?

Tennis would be so fun if I had this cool skill called endurance.

  1. What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you as an athlete?

While I was competing in Arizona with a few teammates we ran into a tall, athletic looking man. I didn’t pay very much attention to him but did snap a picture of him with my teammate. Turns out it was only London Olympics gold medalist long jumper Greg Rutherford.
