The Brock Badgers are once again the national standard in U SPORTS men’s wrestling.
The Badgers reclaimed their spot as the top-ranked team in the nation, after joining the women’s squad in sweeping the OUA championship banners in Guelph over the weekend. It was the fifth straight title for the Brock men, and sixth for the No.1-ranked women, who dominated the competition winning 10 of 19 gold medals.
The Badgers will now prepare to host the U SPORTS Wrestling Championships Feb.21-22 in St. Catharines.
In other U SPORTS rankings, UNB (men’s hockey) Concordia (women’s hockey), Carleton (men’s basketball), Saskatchewan (women’s basketball), Trinity Western (men’s and women’s volleyball), Calgary (men’s swimming), UBC (women’s swimming) and Guelph (men’s and women’s track and field) remain at No.1 for another week.
For the second straight season, U SPORTS is using the ELO Rating System for the calculation of its weekly national rankings. Powered by RankR, ELO’s unique algorithm blends a statistical calculation with customized variables that is adaptable across a range of sports. For more information, click here.
