Men’s Track & Field News

The Guelph Gryphons remained the top squad in U SPORTS men’s track and field this week but saw their wide lead over second-ranked Toronto slip somewhat. Guelph dropped slightly, from 117 points to 108, while the Varsity Blues went from 70 to 71.5.

Manitoba is still holding down the number three spot, with a nice total of 69 points, while No. 4 Laval (44 points, up from No. 5) and No. 5 Western (39 points, up from No. 7) all cracked the top five.

The Saskatchewan Huskies were the biggest movers of the week, moving from tenth to sixth place. They are followed by No. 7 Windsor, No. 8 Alberta, No. 9 McMaster, and No. 10 Montréal.

This week’s track and field schedule is highlighted by a trio of “Last Chance” meets at Carleton, Guelph and Toronto in preparation for conference championships the following weekend.
