Toronto's Dale and Soufi of Manitoba named U SPORTS Track and Field athletes of the week

Emma Dale, Toronto

  • Year of Eligibility: 3rd
  • Academic Program: Visual Studies

Emma Dale, named the U SPORTS track and field female athlete of the week for January 29 to February 5. Dale of the had an outstanding performance at the York Open, as she won the high jump with an impressive 1.72 metres, which ties for the best high jump in U SPORTS this season.

The Blues head to Massachusetts for the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational this weekend.

Jordan Soufi, Manitoba

  • Hometown: Winnipeg, Man.
  • Year of Eligibility: 4th
  • Academic Program: Kinesiology & Recreation Management

Jordan Soufi of the Manitoba Bisons had an outstanding performance at home in the Jim Daly Bisons Classic. Soufi finished with a time of 6.77 seconds to win the 60m dash, after posting a 6.75 in a previous heat. His 6.75 was the second fastest time in program history and Soufi holds the top two times in school history at 6.71 and 6.75.

Soufi’s performance qualifies him for the U SPORTS championship which are set to be held at the University of Manitoba the weekend of March 7-9.

The Bisons are back on the track this weekend as they head south to the South Dakota State University Invitational in Brookings, S.D.
