Women’s Volleyball
All four national leaders held serve over the weekend in the final Top 10 rankings of the 2018-19 season.
Alberta (men’s and women’s hockey), Brandon (men’s volleyball) and Ryerson (women’s volleyball) remain in the No. 1 position as conference championships are set to wrap up this week to determine the final spots for national championships.
The U SPORTS #CHAMPSZN will continue this week with track and field, along with the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Final 8 tournaments. Next week, men’s and women’s hockey, men’s and women’s volleyball and curling will crown their 2019 U SPORTS national champions. For the full championship schedule, click here.
New this season, U SPORTS is implementing the ELO Rating System for the calculation of its weekly national rankings. Powered by RankR, ELO’s unique algorithm blends a statistical calculation with customized variables that is adaptable across a range of sports. For men’s hockey, it will be combined with the results of the media panel balloting (each weighted 50%) to produce the final top 10. For more information, click here.
