Friday – Sunday
Canada West TV Presented by Co-op
It's Canada West conference championship weekend, with the top swimmers in the west looking to qualify for U SPORTS Championships in February. Both of the No.1-ranked teams in the country will be looking to clinch conference titles en route to nationals early next year in Victoria. In total, four of the top 10 ranked men's teams (No.1 Calgary, No.3 UBC, No.5 Victoria, and No.10 Regina) and four of the top 10 women's teams—including the top three in the country—(No.1 UBC, No.2 Calgary, No.3 Victoria, and No.8 Manitoba) will be in action in Lethbridge.
The UBC men have won the last six and 19 all-time conference titles - one short of Calgary's record. However, they be pushed by the No.1 Dinos this year, led by 10-time Canada West medalist Robert Hill. On the women's side, UBC will look to clinch their 11th consecutive and 31st overall conference title. Watch out for Hoi Lam Karen-Tam who set new records in the 50m and 100m freestyle at last year’s championships.
In Ontario, the OUA divisional championships are underway with Toronto hosting the Fairweather Divisional meet, while Guelph plays host for the deBray Division Championship.
In Quebec, Laval is hosting the second meet of the season, with both of its teams ranked in the U SPORTS Top 10.

UNB’s longtime coach can make history this weekend. With one more win under his belt, Gardiner MacDougall will eclipse the 500-win milestone. MacDougall’s 20-season tenure leaves the Bedeque, P.E.I. native with the second most wins in U SPORTS history as a men’s hockey coach.
This year, the Reds are off to a hot start and are currently ranked second in the nation with a 10-3-0 record.
MacDougall and the Reds will have a chance to secure a spot in the record books on Friday against the Dalhousie Tigers during the team’s fourth annual Teddy Bear toss.
