Men’s Volleyball

Western (0-0) @ Waterloo (0-0)

 In the conference opener, the Western Mustangs take on the Waterloo Warriors in the OUA’s first volleyball match of the 2021-22 season.

In the 2019-20 season Western had a 7-10 record while Waterloo had a 3-14 record.

This will be the first OUA regular season volleyball game in over 600 days.

 

McMaster (0-0) @ Windsor (0-0)

The McMaster Marauders will be hosted by the Windsor Lancers to kick off OUA West action.

McMaster and Windsor were both ranked in the U SPORTS Top-10 in 2019-20 prior to the season shutting down.

McMaster was named host of both the 2023 U SPORTS Men’s Volleyball Championship and the 2024 U SPORTS Women’s Volleyball Championship.

Women’s Volleyball

Ryerson (0-0) @ Queen’s (0-0)

In the first OUA women’s regular season volleyball matchup in nearly two years, the Ryerson Rams will visit the Queen’s Gaels.

Ryerson was dominant in conference play during the 2019-20 campaign posting a 16-3 record and ending the campaign as the fifth-ranked squad in the nation.

Queen’s second-year outside, Hannah Duchesneau is one to watch. Duchesneau recently represented Team Canada in the Pan Am Cup in the Dominican Republic.

Men’s Soccer

UFV (4-3-5, 1-0 playoffs) @ Victoria (6-3-3, 1-0 playoffs)

The University of Fraser Valley Cascades will take on the Victoria Vikes at the Canada West Final Four tournament hosted by Mount Royal University.

This weekend, the Cascades men's soccer program has the chance to achieve two previously unprecedented milestones in program history: Qualify for the U SPORTS national championship, and win a Canada West championship.

The Vikes and Cascades have locked horns twice this season, with Victoria winning the season opener by a score 1-0, and a scoreless draw in their second match.

The winner of the match will meet the victor between the Mount Royal Cougars and UBC Thunderbirds. 

 

UBC (4-2-6, 1-0 playoffs) @ No. 8 Mount Royal (6-1-3, 1-0 playoffs)

 The No. 8 Mount Royal Cougars are hosting the Canada West Final Four tournament where they’ll take on the UBC Thunderbirds for a berth in the final.

MRU ended the regular season with a first-place finish in the Canada West Central division, while the Vikes placed third in the West division.

The Cougars led the Canada West Conference with 27 goals for in 10 games during the regular season and will look to striker Mohamed El Gandour, who led the team in points with eight goals and three assists in nine games played.

UBC’s Logan Chung gave the Thunderbirds a 2-1 victory over the Calgary Dinos in the quarterfinal with a goal in the 73rd minute.

The winner of the matchup will take on the winner between UFV and Victoria.

The gold medal game will be held Sunday, Nov. 7 at 4:00 pm ET, 1:00 pm PT at MRU Stadium Field.

Women’s Rugby

No. 5 Ottawa (4-2-0, 1-0 playoffs) @ No.3 Laval (6-0, 1-0 playoffs)

The No.3 Laval Rouge et Or will look for redemption against the No. 5 Ottawa Gee-Gees at the RSEQ Women’s Rugby championship.

Although the Rouge et Or are the defending U SPORTS Women’s Rugby champs, Ottawa downed Laval in the 2019-2020 conference championship.

The Gee-Gees will be looking for their seventh consecutive conference title, while the undefeated Laval side will look to take home the conference banner.
